RA - Life Updateness lol

Hi everybody

I haven't really spoken for a while, ay? Course the 64digits 'power down' contributed - also been busy with life. Non-single life is more of a chore than you think. I'm starting to like that Girls = Time * money formula. But she's worth it, or am I pubescentally blind?

Anyway! I've been doing a few things in life. Conflict: Online, believe it or not, is one 'thing'! I spent half of my holidays implementing some new structures into the current CO engine. I've even rewritten the AI for what was to be online bots, but we're considering just having them as offline practice bots. I've produced a class-like system for players / targets, and have rebuilt the weapon system. I am pretty much getting the game ready for online coding.

Another project is a game I'm producing with/for my brother, called The Treasure House Game. He's an animation writer and as he is getting his latest work released through a publisher, He wanted me to make a little game for him. For those crazy rhys-blog fan(s), you'll have seen an early screenshot a few blogs back. Well yeah, it's going well. The aim of the game is to throw books at a bookworm that pops up in various places in the room, without hitting customers (this is a toy shop) or anything on the shelves. It's a basic score/time method, so yeah. Fairly enjoyable putting it together.

I've also been working on getting my band started a bit more. We've been jamming weekly at our church (has tons of amps, PA systems, recording gear, and a sick keyboard and drumkit) and we're getting into the writing stage, though we're not brilliant. I can't really express what type of band we are - probably Blues-Rock, but we're aiming for Prog Blues-Rock. We like fiddling with punk and metal sometimes too but don't want to slack off and start playing lame-arse power-chord songs. As for band names, we'd sort of settled on "4 minutes to midnight" but it doesn't really fit our style.

I'd been writing up some lyrics too, trying to stretch on beyond lame emo lyrics I used to write. Tell me what you think of this - it's devoted to an awful mall/plaza that I go to to shop.
Quote:
Tiled, Public Catwalks

Reflect the shape of their legs

Counterfeit notions of angst love

Accrue their loss of satisfaction

Bodily shapes form their judgement

And decay their hindsight

(Chorus)

Give me the weekly digest

Of replacement relationships

That form and feast on

The Satanic Charm

Detrimental Consumables

Circle the famished gatherings

Pubescent markets of false hope

Fight for their slackened income

Avid, frenzied habitué

Waste their money on futile matters

(Alt. Chorus)

Give me the daily digest

Of 50 pound lunches

As we form and feast on

The Satanic Charm

Lost in a crowd of the same

You fight for fortune and fame

Your “hello kittyâ€? strat will do little

Just one substantial, pathetic shame

Lost in your desire for pain

As you deem your wrist as slain

Fake screams take you nowhere

While you allow your soul to drain

I mistake them for another

And another for them

Like lemmings following each other

I stress my condemn

S'lata

Thanks, Mr "took 1 year to get 1 menu screen complete".
Yeah, except if I'm not mistaken, the game's title is Conflict: Online, not Conflict: Best Menu EVER.

Verse 1

Would you believe me, would you listen if I told you that

There is a love that makes the way, it never holds you back

Verse 2

Who would have thought that God would give his one and only Son

Taken a stand upon the cross to show his perfect love

Pre-chorus

So would you break free, would you break free get up and dance, in His love

Chorus

His love never ends, yeah.

There's no escaping the truth, there's no mistaking its you

God forever we'll get up and dance, get up and dance and praise you

There's no escaping your love, there's no mistaking your light

Across the world we will get up and dance, get up and dance and praise you

Verse 3

Now is the time to take this freedom that has come our way

Offer our lives to see the glory of His name

Bridge

Never ? all our days

We are holy Lord, holding onto all your ways

We are holding on, holding on to all you've said and you've done

We are holding on to your love

Now we will dance

Sure but your lack of motivation in getting the menu complete should make you understand our lack of completing the game.

And Dom, notice how the song is all about "WE"? "We are holy Lord"
