After a bit of a discussion with GameCave's Musician, I've decided to take on the challenge of entering this very famous gaming contest. 4elements is a game contest, based on judging the game which is most original, and implements the annual 4 elements most correctly. This year, there are 4 challenging elements i need to implement:
EmotionI am going to need to have the game based on a clear emotion, evoking this emotion on the player. EconomicsI have to include some kind of trade in this game, could be as simple as buying weapons and ammo or something. EmblemThis is bugging me the most. Throughout the story, and "emblem" or "logo" must be part of the gameplay/story.EuropeThe game must be based around Europe; past, present or future, doesn't matter. Anyway, just telling you guys lol, can't think of anything else to talk about. I'm getting my new guitar quite soon, was about $750au (around… what… 900 american dollars?), worth about 1500. Acoustic Steel, left handed, pickup, and it's hand-made with the finest woods in Australia. WOO.The 4e5 site is located here: http://www.gamedev.net/community/contest/4e5/default.asp
Good luck ^_^
That competiton looks really hard. If I finish the game I'm working on currently in a few months and tweak it a little bit to fit the requirements, then I'll enter. It says all (valid) entries get a small prize:
Bah. Get a guitar from that one guy in Nova Scotia. Hand-made, considered the finest in the world. Very, very, very, very expensive.
I'm entering sometyhing shitty just to get that prize
