Some of you will know that GameCave is working on yet another website design (or like Chiken stated, "GameCave makes a new design like every 2 weeks…. and im a noob")… In fact, this is the third design.
We've decided to go back to purple for a start, simply because I fell in love with purple many years ago and lately I've been having an affair with blue… but then I resented to purple. Next, the new website won't just be my manual html-uploading all the time. It will be worked on with Ajax, having some SQL databases and php crap etc etc. It will have polls, shoutboxes, and each member will have their own blog. The system will all work together, so for instance, if a member creates a game it is added to his/her portfolio, and then his/her name is listed in the games credits (by default the member is credited as his/her major role in the team, but later is editable). So yeah, it's going to be a lively site. Next, we'll have a proper forum. At the moment we have a cheap invisionfree forum, which was used rarely. Now we're considering a phpBB forum, with a design that matches the websites main design appropriately. Anyway, I need to give you guys a little preview of the design. This is not just a design concept I made in photoshop, this is a screenshot straight from the browser (well the white-to-purple gradient on the side-bar was photoshopped, because I'm working on that still). Everything is too big. You need to think smaller, especially because game sites typically have a lot of content.
Also the site needs to have something on the left… it just seems empty over there.
Yeah, It will; shoutboxes, polls, etc.
