On a Professional Note...

I've returned. Had a bit of a break from 64Digits. Actually, you could call that a lie, I have been checking up on my Effects Engine downloads, because it's finally reached 500 (thus, cool new badge). Golf Clap, everyone.

On interesting news, Conflict: Online continues to have work done to it. It's a slow progress, I admit, there has been trouble with a few members, but it's hopefully all sorted now, and in the meantime we've had lots of discussions regarding optimization, etc. CO isn't dead, it's still going ;). We've got Chiken working on the project, in case you haven't heard… and we've had a lot of progress since. The CO Website is being redone, just because of a few problems with it. But yeah, we've done somes sweet stuff with CO… including a language-filter for the chat. Works a treat.

I've done a ton of work on the new Effects Engine, I took your kind comments of criticism from the "explosions" teaser, and remade a few explosions, as well as made some new ones… spectacular if I do say so myself. Most of the old effects will still be available, most reVamped… but crap ones like "Wind" and "Volcano" will be removed. Arcalyth/Halospree/Alex has started working on the new PartArt GUI (PartArt is like Part-Designer.. but it was the original one; nobody took notice of it, because it was crap), and i've been working on navigation between engines.

We've also started planning a new project. Another game, of course. We've noticed the lack of racing games; proper ones at least… and I've been inspired enough to get the team really excited about this one. The AI concepts have been working a treat, and involve the computer deciding when's a good time to smash into you or opponents… it also decides on alternative routes, and goes unique ways based on where every other car is going. Not only that, but MY BROTHER is working on the project… he's a graphic designer, so he's got a lot of cool Photoshop Documents of various car-sprites he's made. The car can be completely broken apart, taking various layers off, etc. We've also got a sick method of designing the tracks… no tilesets for us! We have a straight-road-sprite for each road-type, and it gets skewed and morphed to make completely unique and variable track-corners and curves. Great stuff. Finally, i've got an awesome guitarist, an awesome bassist, and an awesome drummer, who will be going to my brothers recording studio and recording an original soundtrack for the game. Stay tuned (the game will probably start physical coding when CO is complete… so be patient).

Finally… IM GOING TO FREAKING G3!!! THATS RIGHT!! Just by absolute luck, G3 (Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, 2 of the worlds best guitarists… Satriani taught Metallicas guitarist) has decided to tour to SYDNEY this year, and they're taking my absolute favourite bands guitarist, JOHN PETRUCCI FROM DREAM THEATER!!! YEAAAAHAAHAHAHHAAH!!! IM GOING!! In fact, we got reserved tickets within 30 seconds of the tickets going on sale… we probably bought the absolute first tickets! YEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Seeya.

I don't think any language filter can completely stop people from swearing.. .but it's always nice to make it harder for them.

I remember playing Runescape a couple of years back. If I remember correctly, they had a nice language filter. The closest you could come to saying "fuck" was "phk".

Runescape's language filter is so jacked up XD

I hope Chiken does a better job with the online component than he did with his infamous 39dll example here… LOL.

The Dead or Alive 4 language filter forced you to get REALLY creative with your swearing. If you decided to use a keyboard instead of the usual mic, that is.

That was really low, Fred.

I agree with Arcalyth. He was still learning 39dll when he released that, don't put him down.
