That's right… tommorow I will sit my final exam; Information Technology (or Computer Studies). Save the best to last, ay? Most people also have an exam (in the same sitting) for their other elective, however, my other elective is Drama; which does not have an exam.
So, today was weird. Firstly, I swallowed a fly, and it didn't want to stay down so it kept flying up my throat and getting stuck. Luckily after many swallows, he flew slower and slower up my throat till I assume I digested him. But, on a good note, I spent the whole day seting up, moving, and rebuilding computers at school. So you have 3 rooms right? IBM D, IBM C, and the Library. IBM D has 16 new computers, IBM C has 16 1ghz XP computers, Library has 25 pieces of crap that can't handle a simple task of opening the CD Drive. So today, we got 16 new computers just like the one's in IBM D. I moved all of them into IBM C, set them up, while also pulling apart the original IBM C computers and moving them into the library. After that was done, I went to the Library, ready to start packing up the junk and setting up the old IBM C computers. To my only slight surprise, a guy named "Victor" was there, already setting up the computers. Let me tell you about Victor.Everybody hates him. He thinks he knows a lot about everything, and always helps with everything, but screws it up. My mate does the lighting grid and sound for my school, and once he spent 7pm to 3am setting up a lighting grid for a school performance.. only to find the next morning that Victor had came along and pulled it all apart. Literally… pulled the mixers apart, taken down the lights. It's inexplainable how hard it is to get messages into his head… Even the teachers hate him, I've heard them say it. They hate him because they have serious meetings with him about what he can touch and what he can't touch, and he still does the same thing. So pretty much… He tries to help but screws everything up.So he's there with a few of his idiot friends, setting the computers up in the wrong order. Each computer is numbered, to work with the network properly. So I tell him, no, get off, I'm working on this… and he and his mates said "well we were asked to do it so we're just doing it", when Mr Whelan (Computer Coordinator) had already told me ONLY I can set them up because only I know how the network works. So I let them all help, with the condition they do what I say. So while I'm getting them to place the boxes and monitors in the right positions ONLY (no cables or keyboards or mice or any plugging in), Victor runs around setting every computer up fully individually… leaving a mess in the cables, loss of cables, and making me angry. Then, there was a computer that wasn't booting the hard-drive. I told him to leave it and he set the BIOS Password instead…. so now Mr Whelan doesn't know the BIOS password, and sure, it works now, but Victor is an idiot. So that's pretty much my rant. I had something else, but I forgot. So bye.-Rhys
Wow, funny fly story.
