Back By Unpopular Demand

Yup, After about a month of no computer and another month of no internet…I've decided to continue this for a few reasons.

1. It helps gets people's games out into the open and to be seen.

2. It brings people together so they can criticize every little mistake I make…like mispelling a word.

3. It's fun.

So without further adu…

Game: Tower

Developer Rovig

Release January 23, 2008

TOWER BUILDING

This remake of the classic tower building game is well made. The graphics are clean, smooth, and fitting. The Camera is almost always where it

needs to be. The gameplay is easy due to it's one-button design. But the highlight here? The physics. Every time you drop a block it makes the

tower wobble…making you tense to see if it'll hold. Everything works here, but it'd be nice to see some features like Timed Building or a

Multiplay mode….but we all know how hard it is to make a good multiplayer game on Gamemaker. All in all…I give it…

9/10

Everything does what it needs to do. It could be more…but it's fine just the way it is.

Game:Computer Virus

Developer:GamerXA

Release Date: January 21, 2008

INFECTION

While I like the idea of the game, (A virus army bent on destroying a computer) It leaves too many parts of the game unfilled. The movement is

at times unresponsive, which can be a reall downer in a game like this. The graphics arn't anything great…but they're not anything blindingly bad.

It can be satisfying when you see your army grow….but frustrating to see it die out of nowhere because you thought you unselected it….but you

didn't. There is a bit a strategy added to the mix. But it's just not polished enough. All in all, I give it a…

6/10

It has it's times…but it just needs to be tweaked a bit more.

GAME OF THE WEEK!!!

Game: Santa's Little Helpers

Developer:kikko fergae

Release Date:January 15, 2008

THE NAUGHTY LIST

First of all…just so you know, half of this game is A scrolling shooter, which isn't a bad thing. The first half has you blasting through Santa's

armada. Once you beat this half of the game, which is half of the fun. You go onto a platforming shooter rampage on the little elves. As you kill,

your experiance goes up which gives you a reason to take out the elves instead of just running by them. The music, even though everyone else

seems to hate it, fit the game, I personally like it. My only complaints are the fact that the first few levels ran slower than some of the others, and

the fact that the boss level is just too easy. All in all, I give it a …

8.5/10 (9)

The graphics are nice, the playability is okay…and the leveling up is fun…but the easy boss…kinda is let down.

No comments is the new section where I find a game/WIP/example that has no comments and I give a short report on it.

Example, Ballistics Example, hardcoregamer

This example is simple. Very Simple…because that helps in an example.

All it does basicly is when an object is shot, it will tell who shot it. This could easily come in handy with multiplay games and telling who got the

kill. He also has a RPG example and is working on a game called Adbarlian Castles. Hopefully we can see more from him.

III. Debate

Will we see Ver. 3 Soon?, Yes, or No?

Personally I think so, we're hearing…or…seeing the text of new servers, but if you notice…43 out of the 181 users voted Ver. 3 would come out

before ENIGMA(69 votes) PLatformed(16 votes) BBQ5(32 votes) Teleka(11 votes) REZ2(10 Votes) So atleast some people are expecting it

soon. So we'll just have to wait and find out.

IV. News

In a summary here's the news around 64Digits.

i. New badges for V3 are now being submitted. Voting for these badges will start Feb. 24th

For more details go to the front page.

ii. Obel Isk's project, Teleka hit a rough speed bump due to a loss of computer.

V. Kudos

This weeks Kudos will be handed out to two 64Digits veterans.

TwisterGhost

The developer of the famed LOLOMGWTFBBQ series. He is one of the early members of 64D and has helped out in getting us new members, and making the 64digits world more fun. He wanted 2 pages…but…I only gave him two lines…apparently…Twisterghost's going to [a deadly verb I don't feel like typing]me to death.

Phazon Yoshi

Developer of one of the most highly rated Examples, (TroidEngine) He wasn't the earliest user, but he's active around 64Digits. He only wanted half a page…but…he only got a line. Wow, I don't know what Phazon'll do to me…Better sleep with my eyes open.

Oh, and for Stampede…

You Are Cool

That's all folks…tune in next week for Issue 4

It feels nice to be loved…

I'm not veteran, not by a long shot, but he did say that, no?
