Zyousbox

Author-Notalot

Release- March 9th, 2008

Genre-Arcade

PRONOUNCIATION?

Let me start off by saying Zyoubox is not exactly a game. It has a goal, and it's interactive, but something's missing. Perhaps it's the one level, of about fifty yards that you run through while shooting black flying creatures. If this was labeled as a WIP the score would be greater, but it's not, so it isn't. The aiming in this game is a learning thing. You may start off thinking it's a little sensitive, but as I went through the game, It was like breathing. After you reach 100 kills, something that was a bit boring after hitting 75. You interact with another breed of black creatures, but these are a bit faster. The fire that runs along the ground keeps you on your toes, which is good. It's a pretty awesome feeling to maniacly shoot at the creatures and have blood rain down upon you. The graphics aren't this games strong point, but it's not blindingly bad. All in All, I give it a 6.5/10 (7), the game is fun in some points but there's not anything there to make me want to keep playing.

GAME OF THE WEEK

Brain In a Jar

INNOVATIVE TO THE EXTREME

Hmm, what do you start of a review about a game titled Brain in a Jar with? First of all, this is an innovative game. The sole mission of the player is to blast the guns to position the brain to survive, it does make your brain tick to get the exact amount so you can recieve the health. The graphics are very good, and very suiting. Id' like to see a story that could use the brain as a humor tool… but that's not the purpose of the game. This game is fun…but limited at that. It's worth the play though. All in all…

I give it a 8/10 The game does what it's supposed to, and it's pretty fun.

Tiny

This game is tiny, and it kinda hurt my eyes, but…it wasn't all bad…or at least as horrible as TomatoeWorm warned it would be in his description. Sure, the boss is basicly unbeatable…but look at the brightside…the graphics are nice. It is annoying that he pulls out his shield everytime you get near him…but eh, it's okay..you can just buttonmash your way out…actually, you can't. All in all…

I give it a 6/10 It's not exactly horrible…but it's isn't really good either…fun for a while.

Debate

The Midway Drout

That's what I call the period of time in which developers are working on a game, they get bored and start on another project.

Do you believe in The Midway Drout? State your opinion in a comment, Do I?

Of course, Havn't you heard of Dead Man's Hill, or Javelin?

No…that's because I suffer from The Midway Drout.

So, tell me, do you believe it it, and why do we suffer from it,

And now for the most controveral section of the magazine…

Kudos

This weeks Kudos goes out to…

Kilin

Kilin is a moderately active user who has tons of friends. He is a repected member, and is rooted on by the community for his project, 64Brawl, while it's hard to even finish a decent game from beginning to end, but many have hope in Kilin, especially with his recent polls regaurding the game, so Here's to you Kilin

Kudos!

If you know someone or are someone who you believe deserves Kudos, message me the user name.

Or if you have a "letter to the editor" message me.

I appreciate your mentioning me in the Informer. It provides a lot of that needed support. Besides that, I didn't realize how popular it was getting.
