iOS 4.0 on a 3G model is the biggest fail that ever failed. The immense level of suckage cannot adequately be surmised by just a few lines of text. I can't even use my iPod anymore. This is just one of their ploys to make me buy the new iPhone. But the thing is, everything new on 4.0 could easily be attained via jailbreak apps on 3.1.2. Damn commie bastards…
h8 AppleYeah, this is just me venting. So how are you guys doing?Oh, and to KaBob, I expect a 64Digits iPod app out. Or at least a mobile version of this site. Make it happen.
Novelty. Or, we can go with the mobile site idea. Again, it's just a mere suggestion. The usefulness of which is obviously to aid the plight of those with pudgy fingers and little patience.
I don't even use my cell phone, it's for emergencies only. But if I did get a good one, it wouldn't be from apple.
still using my netbook >:D asus 1005HA ftw! got jolicloud on it and it just keeps getting better :D
Agreed, planned obsolescence is a pretty dirty tactic. That's why, if at all possible, I plan to stop updating my iPhone 4's OS whenever Apple releases the next major iteration of the iPhone. If I don't hear anything too negative about the update from other iPhone 4 users after a few weeks of its release then I might consider installing the update.
That's generally what I do, but due to the possibility of downgrading your iOS, I didn't figure the update to be too much of a risk. I went about a week with it, and my review is that of utter failure. Nothing works correctly. Alarm clock doesn't sound, mail won't load correctly, YouTube is unresponsive, wifi goes in and out for no known reason, and the lag is unbearable.
I downgraded back to 3.1.2 today, and restored all of my jailbroken apps. Much more satisfied now.Ah, you can downgrade? That's nice.
It is a nice perk, but doesn't take away from the dirtiness of the tactic. Updating a 3G device to iOS 4.0 will literally render your device useless at worst, severely impaired at best.
Well it's arguably not a 'tactic' in this case, let alone dirty.
It's a new OS that, while installable on older iPhones, brings new features primarily intended for use on the iPhone 4 with its beefier hardware. It's not planned obsolescence when an older computer is incapable of running a newer OS smoothly, is it?I agree with Ross, yaywalter.
