On account of my paycheck being smaller than anticipated, I have found myself unable to assemble my RAID array of 4 2TB drives like I was planning.
Kinda sucks, but there's a bit of a silver lining: It's got me converting my personal DVD rips to much more reasonably sized video files. This alone should free up over 100 GB of space for me to use until next payday. In addition to it ending my video conversion procrastination, it also means that I'll be able to put together a little bit nicer RAID array when I do get paid. I'll be using 3TB drives in place of the 2TB, meaning I'll effectively have 9 TB of usable space instead of 6. I figure I might as well go all out with this thing now. I'd rather not fill up 6 TB and regret going with 2TB drives instead of 3 from the beginning.9 TB of useable space is a whole fucking lot, which is exacly what I want. If someone is willing to share the contents of their external drive, I don't want to have to pick and choose. I wanna be able to tell them to just give me everything. That's enough about that though. Is nobody interested in retro game reviews? My blog about coolboarders got a relatively cool response, with a blistering 0 comments. I'm not too hurt by this, as who gives a fuck about coolboarders? Not me, I just picked the game on a whim. But I thought I'd at least get some responses to my open invitation for game requests. Anyone have an older game they'd like me to review?Lastly, I keep saying I'm practicing using Blender, but I never post any of my work. So here's a wine glass I did. The lighting's a little weird, the bottom of the glass looks pitch black, but w/e.
:o Looks fanceh.
How did you make the liquid in the glass?I'm not very familiar with older games per say, so I doubt I could really help with suggestions there… :/I just made an object the same shape as the inside of the glass and made it red, very slightly transparent and very slightly reflective. :P
What, no fluid simulation? lololol
Nah.
Looks nicer than anything I've done with Blender.
oh god, fluid animation on youtube :F
Here's a short animation clip:
I'm taking a guess if you keep doing retro reviews, eventually people will recognise something and get nostalgic and leave a lot of comments and become friends with you.
Also, why does everybody start 3d with glass models? It's either that or teapots…Because glass is pwetty. Not sure about the teapots though… I guess they're the equivalent of "Hello World" for 3D modeling I guess?
