No, this isn't going to be a complaint about modern music.. Rather, it's a complaint about how strict the music industry is about enforcing lyric's copyrights.
I can completely understand not wanting another artist stealing the lyrics of one of your artist's songs. But I cannot at all understand making it hard for consumers to be able to tag their music with the lyrics for additional enjoyment. It's no different from album art really, and IMHO should already be included with any digitally distributed music file. There are tools out there which can make adding lyrics to songs a little bit easier than manually looking up each track's lyrics. But these tools suck, and frankly I think it's the music industry's fault rather than the developer's (in some cases). For instance, there's a program for Mac called Tagalicious that's meant to add the correct album art, album, artist, year, etc. to your iTunes library. It used to be able to add lyrics also, and was one of the better tools available for doing so because you could automatically do your library in one pass, until pressure from record label(s) made the developers decide to remove the lyrics functionality completely. So stupid.
Music-industry stuff made me think of this:

Another day, another new lesson about how stupid the music industry is.
