Just in time for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, my Steam account gets stolen. Sweeeet.
And as a result, I've learned that Steam's customer support is probably a pigeon that manages to fly into the office about once a month and peck randomly at a keyboard before flying off again. Really top notch stuff, Valve. But maybe Valve will step it up to two pigeons someday, since they expressed Genuine™ concern over their F customer service rating on the BBB back in March.And hey, it's only been a week since I've submitted a support ticket… maybe I'm just being too impatient? I should give it a couple months like everyone else, no biggie.True, maybe I should've had a password that takes longer than 19 seconds to crack according to howsecureismypassword.net… but that doesn't make Steam Support any less of a joke.Seriously though, Konami'll probably have already gone all PT on MGSV's ass by the time I regain access to my account. Maybe I should try and get in contact with the douche who stole my account… I'd probably get quicker, better customer service from him than from Steam Support. Honestly.Well, fuck.
I've heard many horror stories involving Steam's support, but fortunately I haven't had to deal with them yet myself. Hopefully you get your account back in time for MGSV, it's gonna be gooooooooood.
Also, were you not using Steam guard?Steam Guard? If you didn't have it on, you obviously opted out, and for that you have only yourself to blame.
Incidentally, Origin have much better customer service, but also far worse automated security controls.I might've opted out of Steam Guard a long time ago. But that falls under the same category as my weak password: stupid shit that made my account an easier target than it should've been, but that nonetheless doesn't excuse Steam's absolutely atrocious customer service… or complete lack thereof.
Wow, you were unbanned? Since when?
Oh, shoot. You just reminded me someone was trying to get into my account but was stopped by steam guard.
I need to change my password asap.My Steam password would take quadrillion years to brute-force according to that site ~♫
@Moikle - iunno, since always I guess.
@LAR Games - Nice.@Yaru - Whenever I regain access to my steam account, my new password will take 2 undecillion years to brute-force.
