I just finished reading the book Console Wars, and it has me nostalgia tripping hard. Which is a little bit weird considering most of events in the book are well before my time, since I was born in '91 and grew up playing N64, but still.
The book is mostly told from Sega's point of view, and there's a lot of moments that'll have you asking "What if?". Great book, highly recommend it. Though some might find it a little dry… it's all about the behind-the-scenes stuff like the hires & fires, marketing decisions, etc. And when the book starts edging towards the fifth gen consoles, it covers a little regarding how those consoles were shaped hardware-wise.But anyway, like I said… it has me nostalgia tripping hard. Both for the games I've played and for the games I've made.As a result, I'll probably be binging on some N64 games. Plus, I think I'll do some more polished and fleshed-out remakes of some of my older titles. And despite coming up with the moniker of "Uyamau Games" back in 2012, I think I'll be using "Orbitoclast Games" instead.Oh, and if there's any way I could get my old account unbanned so that I can retrieve some files from that account… that'd be great. I have no idea what I had uploaded with it, but I'm sure it must be pure gold.
