Biggerer and Betterer

Well, this month has been the month of upgrades, lots of new stuff - New computer, new OS, new applications.

My computer fried itself, right royally cooked itself. Lost all my data, games, WIP's, and, just everything. The only good part is I spent a few thousand and built myself a new computer.

SPECS: CORE 2 EXTREME 2.66GHZ QUAD CORE PROCESSOR

4 GB PC2-9200 DUAL CHANNEL RAM

2X BARRACUDA 320GB HARD DRIVES

600 WATT POWER SUPPLY

XCLIO JR SILVER CASE [link]

MICROSOFT WIRELESS GAMING KEYBOARD/MOUSE 6000 v2

WINDOWS VISTA ULTIMATE

MICROSOFT OFFICE ACADEMIC (free from uni)

GM7 Pro (and loving it)

so yeah, nice and new, really flash for me. And to top it all off, I have a 24' LCD monitor coming to replace my 19" LCD I currently use. Its going to be swell!!!

All my applications/games in game maker are going to have to be redeveloped, along with all the art I did for them. So thats a bit of a bummer, but it will still be fun.

Bought myself a new car too, a Mitsubishi Legnum (2000 model, 6 cylinder, twin turbo, 3.4L) Really nice. Has a nice body kit on it.

Well thats about all, exept that I have also now got Photoshop CS3, a small upgrade from Photoshop 3 that I used to use!!)

Wow, someone want on quite a splurge =p.

Don't forget the Surge Protector! (I'm guessing that's what fried your computer last time?)

Are you planning on using dual monitors?

Oh, nope, a surge didn't fry it last time. Apparently my sound card wasn't inserted properly and shorted a few terminals together, causing a surge in the internal circuitry. Yes to dual monitors, when my new one arrives (hopefully tomorrow) I will have them both hooked up!! As for graphics cards (I seem to remember typing that one up, but meh):

NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800GTX, 768MB GDDR3, PCI-E 16X, TV-OUT, DUAL DVI

So yeah, a splurge, but well worth it
