Shift delete killed the map maker. When erasing some old files I somehow completely deleted the folder in which housed my sidescroller map maker.
Which is pretty shitty in itself.Anyways I moved on and set up a new folder for my current reworking of a 3d rpg. I've sketched out some notes and concepts on how it will function and how much detail goes into making a map.I do plan to release the rpg finished or demo with map maker included.I scanned the notes but then found out that the server is not accepting uploading, and when it seemed to it just sent me to a blank page template…eh. I'm not sure how readable it would have since pencil and scanners seem to dislike each other.I do plan to add in parts of what I had done with the side scroller map maker to this new one. Like not drawing walls that are touching. Tintable textures. Two potential textures for basic structures(walls, floors, ect.) Layered options for adding vines and such. Height map editor with various options to the drawing, controlling the shape/size/strength/falloff of the brush and the tint of the terrain. Each map will also have enviromental options including weather types, water types, and climate tempratures.I want to reach a balance between realism and campy old school rpg'in' so this may come out wierd or interesting whenever if ever I finish.
zomg
zomgzomgyou should have uploaded it, that's what I do with important files, just in case it gets erased from my computer, it'll be online, I just need to redownload it :DFunny thing is I was trying to upload it an hour or so ago before it happend. Bleh.
and then I can find it! Like I did A day in the life of bob 2 (By Poly) XD!
I found A Day in the Life of Bob 1 somewhere… RSUpload? Not a full version though, just an early GM6 beta or something. I need to start looking at file extensions before downloading files…
That sucks, flash drives love you, computers just wait for the chance.
Right-click explore on recycle bin - locate the folder, and restore it. Unless you've emptied your recycle bin since then.
My i-pod(nano) loves me :3 I use it as a portable hard drive(which it happens to be)
Well it was
A) on a usb driveB) using shift+delete completely bypasses the recycling bin.Cant you just restore it from the recycling bin?
No dammit! Stuff on subdrives do not go to the recycle bin!
If you want it back, the only way is to buy Recover My Files for like $80 and there's still no promise. It's gone. You could look for freeware recovery tools, but I wouldn't reccomend using the hard drive much until then…
