I've created a game profile on a newly found site, Indie Gaming Portal.Mostly to get more input, but I'll continue using 64digits as a sort of developement log for the game.In recent news I've completed the overlaying process and totally changed my map rendering method. No longer is there quality settings when making them as I've made the tiles from triangle fans, now all corners shade equally and it uses less polygons.http://www.indiegamingportal.net/index.php?action=showscreen;id=242You can find a screenshot at the above link that demostrates sprites(from cow rpg) with simple shadows and roofs that attach to eachother.Next step on my list is further completing the editor, as I've cleaned up some parts of it and have plans to have sample pics displayed of what you're placing, like walls/floors/ect. with their selected textures, overlays if enabled and color tints. I'll put up some clips of this when I have a chance. In addition I've began working on new character templates, hopefully these will turn out alot better then my previous attempts. I've gotten rusty when it comes to drawing people and critters without Adobe Illustrator or a scanner. Its unfortunate. But on the positive side I've aquired a nice digital camera so I can make more varieties of textures and the likes.I'll release a new tech demo once I get a few key things finished up for the engine and the editor. Like teleporters, ladders and stairs.
It seems kiss-ass but once again i've got to say it looks freaking smexy
Cool, i might start my own game profile there
once I get the motivation to consider making a game for real, I may just join that site, (well, once the game is off appropriate standards and is long enough for a decent demo…)
Holy moly!
Looks pretty damn good dude.
I forget how I stumbled apon it, but I liked the layout and functions, although it lacks features this site has, its got its own flavor that I like.
