Bodies everywhere...

Found some more inspiration to this new little project. In one case I had 600 people running around the screen. That won't be in the demo cuz I think it'd be pushing it too much until I can grasp what range of system this would run on.

Anyways I've also added a cursor and interface, the buttons in the top corner will switch between full/non-full and the x button is well, the quit button. Moving the mouse to the edges of the screen within the view will scroll the scene, as will using the left and right keys. Together they'll move the screen twice as fast.

With several improvements to the look, like a horizon and objects darkening with distance. Better looking ground and people with weapons. I'm code-naming this little project Sidewars until I can think of a good name for it.

Heres what it looks like now…

Now they can't really fight, but they do die randomly when colliding with an opponent. They'll zero in on the closest opponent and keep going until they wipe them out. Future updates will actually have them fighting, maybe some gore and animated deaths.

You can get a quick little demo here

Demo #2

Its probably the most simplest creation I've made in recent years, which means I my actually finish it! Thats your cue to laugh or be optimistic.

I don't like what ever's going on with the tree tops.

Me neither, and the horizon looks weird with the gradient (why add a four-lined gradient to a horizon? Or is it because of the image compression?

The mountains did get compressed, will fix those later. And yeah, I'm not happy with the trees either, I may just redo them to have some more detail, leaves and such. I've also made the grass sway recently, its a nice effect. The grass is just textured polygons at various depths so it made the effect easy to do.
