Comp Project

Well I'm actually nearly complete with my competition entry, just some small things to add to it and sounds. Now I've got -no- past experience in making music so I may have a slight set back on my hands. Luckly for the type of game that it is, I can probably just make some techy-beat sound track for it.

As for the game itself its like a pin-ball meets break-out. Which of course break-out games are alot like pinball. No flippers of course.

For health it is a shield that protects your cannon which fires cannon balls at variously shaped blocks. The blocks are percision based and their contours can cause the ball to go in crazy directions to through you off.

There are powerups and bonuses that can be obtained.

Bonus are rewarded when you have a ball hit x amount of times and/or destroy x amount of blocks.

Power ups vary and include exploding balls(damage an area of blocks) to secondary shields(with limited life).

The challange of the game is that your shield is damaged by your own ball, so you really don't want it to bounce off yourself too much. You can fire up to three balls at once and use a ball to destroy an incoming one. The longer the ball stays in play, the faster it goes(has a reverse friction) consiquetly making the ball glow from orange to red to yellow.

Each time the ball strikes a block you get points and the faster the ball is moving the more points a strike can get you.

Three modes of play are aviable:

1) Hard Core - No replay - 100 shield.

2) Standard - Replay(halves score) - 100 shield.

3) Cake Walk - Replay(halves score) - 200 shield.

There is no end to the game, it ends when your shield runs out. Levels are completed by destroying all the blocks in that room. As you get further more types of blocks show up as well as more varieties in color. The amount of hits a block can take is based by its color, red being the weakest block and silver being the strongest.
