The first GM version of The Crawl
Little searching in google revealed that I do still have the latest demo of my long lost fake-3d version. I wish I hadn't lost -all- the resources for it, it was nice. Not quite ready but mostly there websiteWell I said I'd do it and I've almost done it. I've got the beginnings of a site coming together for 'The Crawl'. Happily located on googlepages, but not built with it. There editor just seemed way too dumbed down so I stuck with Swriter, the word equivelant for Open Office. Its actually alot nicer to make websites with then MS Word as it doesn't load the html with nearly as much incomprehensable jargan. I compared them, its horrid.Don't go in expecting to see some brilliant-java-flash-hyper-glorified-mega-graphical-master-piece. It isn't. Cut and dry and should be an easy load on your connection….should be.As for what is up, currently the about page, history page(mostly), downloads(some), and screenshots(plenty). All pages are present so no links should be broken. Much more to come when I've got some more time to work on the site.In developement is the retooled map editor. Currently graphics and positional data has been changed, but theres still much to do. As for the engine, it will just need to be altered so read the new save formats I have planned.Back to the site, the developement page will take some time to construct as I'll be trolling through past blogs and my neglected project's entry to fill in the developement history. From the in-code polygons of the first to the model juggling spectacular of the recent.
I happen to like the '90s.
It reminds me of the days before design sense.
It reminds me of that one failed website I made as a 10 year old. Except that that website had text that was smaller than 36 points. [:)]
I'd suggest going for a "light" design. Sleek, "light", geometric, and just a bit shiny is the way to go.Seriously consider tearing that down and remaking it. Take a look at other websites. Copy what looks good.
I still hate you for being better then me >__<
Well I try a new style or two, I just don't want to spend too much time on it.
