Black Shadow, Improved

NEW Black Shadow Demo –> Version .24

Going back through all the code and enemies, I've added several new little details to the game play and the visuals. Collision and hit detections have been reworked, the latter more the most.

In addition to the fixes, I've added it so that some enemies and certain attacks against the player can cause the affected to recoil. Sometimes in amusing ways…

The Quivering Mound in the forest area for example, now resembles its name more then ever and in a good way.

I've also completely removed the dialog system and will maybe redo it.

There is currently 20 levels, a variety of powerups to discover and aquire. You can also now save(F5) and load(F6) if you couldn't in past versions, saving will prompt you with a fade away message.

Also got time to do some more graphics and played around with the colors of current tiles to get some nicer resualts.

Some new scenes

Known Issues:

*You sometimes float on stair cases in certain situations.

*After recieving the first weapon upgrade, right facing attack sprite is still the old one. Fixes by simply turning left, but I would like to eliminate it sometime.

Let me know if anything else stands out or causes a problem since I've changed alot of things.

I would like to play it but the link does not seem to work. It goes to the download page, but I am not able to download it.

Great, just downloaded the game right now, I tell you later my opinion.

When you said Black Shadow, I thought of F-Zero's Black Shadown.

add a timer for a speedrun. I am prepared to use save state abuse

Maybe it's because I didn't change the resolution, but the game played awfully slow in most bigger areas. Other than that, it's awesome, although jumping gets annoying.

I think I can fix the slow down, as I've not done much to make things run efficient yet. It does run and look better in the 320x240 mode, I'm guessing the higher the resolution the screen is, the stretching would slow things down. I like the idea of adding a timer, but the save states are just temporary, there will be save points and slots. Still need to work on the jumping.
