For my first round of mapping tests, I've sketched out a simple single level layout to follow, using what objects I currently have at my disposal. Which is just a few so far.
So far I've only have a quarter of it done, below some overhead shots of the structure(just exteriors) being 1/6 completed and then 1/4 completed. I've decided to have less cabins then original thought(was going to have 4, now just 2).And heres a scan of the original concept map. After the level is completed, next will come damage, then shading. I found that adding the damage effects after shading is kind of pointless and screws up colors. Also if you feel the urge to use voxed for whatever reason, here is a completely blank vxl map for it. You may wonder why you need one, but if you know anything of what comes with Voxlap, you'll find this useful.Empty Map!———————–Update———————Some shots of a doorway. It consist of three pieces: frame, door half(flipped around for completetion)Also, if you have downloaded voxlap with voxed, you can check out these two maps. One lighted and one with beam damage piercing through end to end around the structure.Heres.
I needs to get me some of that squared paper business for Blah. Good idea.
graph paper is awesome.
It is the best kind of paper for this sort of stuff. Its hard to find a good variety of notepads that have grids, at least from the places I've gone to.
