Station and Irri stuff.

So I've decided to move more towards building a space station. This is due to the limits of the map size, and generally space ships are long. So to make the most of the map space a space station would probably do better.

Alternatively since I'm stuck with a ground floor(it can be blackend) but I was also contemplating have a space ship thats stabbed into a moon surface or something. Like a sword in the stone but a space ship. Its a toss up on which I will settle with really. I like the latter because then I could have some kind of cave structure to explore in addition to the ship itself.

Heres some shots of updated sections.

New section, composed of various kvx's

Section destroyed in JustFly

Starting to build a new structure, thinking a space station this time.

Some more done to it.

Cool thing I discoverd, you -can- export MakeHuman models, simply by pressing 'e'. I guess reading the help file helps you sometimes. It exports the model as an OBJ file, you can easily convert it to 3ds, and at 128-196 voxels in height, it comes out rather nicely. I don't have any captures to show, but it was pretty sweet.

As for my adventures in freebasic, my interface is going well. I've learned some useful tricks to make the most of the language. Already, for what I'm using it for, it owns. Grant it is more close to programing then scripting in GM, but I give GM credit for helping me develope my code structures and minimizing redunant code and slow downs.

Don't diss IRR

If anything is going to direct me to using Irrlicht, its that. Thats all I have to say. Do I need to say more? No.

…but I haven't forgot to makeup a Crawl mockup in voxel art, just haven't had the time.

Didn't work like i wanted, but heres some irr powered freebasic bump and parallax effects. It uses the default texture, but I used my shade texture to smooth out the edges. I like it.

Parallax map with shade applied as well.

Bump mapping(shade applied to bump map, but inversed)
