The lost Shield Breaker

A month or so ago I had lost a flash drive due to child foot kicking it. I'm guessing the connectors got screwed up as the drive would not read and just get really hot. Oh well.

What was lost? Well a modified version of Shield Breaker, version 1.07, you can get it below.

A few things have been changed and added.

1) Maximum balls allowed on screen increases based on score.

2) Pandora boxes that release counter productive opponents that either suck up your ball or shoot them when in range. These show up in later levels.

3) Shooter opponents have been added. They shoot plasma balls around the room. Plasma balls merge when they collide to create large ones. They can be taken out with a ball, which also gets canceled out. These appear around level 5.

4) A test boss has been added to the end of Level 10. To destroy him you must hit the spinning shapes housed within its immortal structure.

5) Now plays in wide screen. 1024x600

6) Improved and modified graphics.

7) Maybe some more stuff, I lost the code so I can't recall.

Also improvements on Black Shadow were lost.

Of those I had added were

1) Collectable coins for money.

2) A down strike attack performed when in air.

3) Some ai improvements

4) Some graphical changes.

5) And anything else…was lost too.

For what I have done lately, you can check out these two voxlap forum post involving my experimental sci-fi project and makehuman model converted into a posable voxel model with ragdoll rigging. Its not much, but its a good start.

And for what I'm planning on doing, is redoing my 10 day of verge game which I had found. I kind of through it up without knowing if it would work…it doesn't. It ran on VERGE 2.0 which was a dos program requiring a bunch of stuff windows no longer offers. It ran fine on windows 98 2nd…

Anyway I did manage to extract all the character art and tiles, as well as the horribly made(in mspaint) monster popups for the battles.

I'm either going to:

A) Remake it with original graphics

B) Improve the graphics a little

C) Redo graphics completely

And I will do:

1) Improve story and add more NPCs

2) Redraw monster battle images

3) Have to redo maps

4) Improve the overall game

And who will benefit? Actually Juju might as I had offered to make a message system for an RPG game. With this endeavour I shall do just that. I actually had a decent system of dailog in that 10-day made game, with triggers and different replys…yeah.

I don't think I can exactly remake it in 10 days straight like I originally did, but maybe in 10 days split amongst an indisclosed period of time.

And finally, I know its kind of my fault for forgetting the one blog in recent rule, but can someone comment on this?
