Old Stuff…new stuff below…
First I was playing around with an old RPG idea, then I got distracted by Build for duke3d again…now here I find myself playing around with Voxlap in another fun little project.Using what is available to me, voxelstien engine that is, I started making a voxel dungeon crawler. Pretty simple stuff, just modeling and solid coloring, I let voxlap's lighting do the detail work.Like always, I don't think this will go too far, but may result in a playable level and possibly some kind of opponent. As it is now, I got a fairly nice test map coming along and replaced the knife with a rapier. No screenshots today, its all at home and I think my usb drive is starting to die. I noticed files are starting to get corrupt on it. So much for the stability of those things. I think I've killed 3 so far. Hopefully this won't affect my backup which is on a MMC card and barely used except to add stuff. Of course with the price these things are getting down to, its less financially tragic to lose one.Oh and in my boredom I threw some pics into my blog and a little bit about Black Shadow.New Stuff!!!And here are those screenshots that I sad I didn't have and a sample dungeon. You'll need to either get Voxlap or voxelstien. If you get the later, theres txt file in the zip which will instruct you howto modify Voxelstien to run the map properly. Download map here
I didn't test it out, but the screenshots look awesome. Well, what else can I say?
Thats good enough for me.
Hot damn! This looks awesome. I shall download and play in Voxelstein!
Actually it works best if you set the height to 40 and crouch to 20. That way your not hitting your head on the lanterns.
Its pretty neat. It makes me think that you could do some awesome puzzle-adventures/exploration games with this. Hidden chambers and stuff
