Still working on that NES rpg diversion from all other projects.
Apparently when I finished the last of the exterior maps, my total was 64.Now that I've completed the outside world, I'll start the painful process of exporting them and creating new collision maps.Interior locations, I believe there will be no more then 6. Probably 5.Although first I'll still be making one more thing in GM before I start to code it, the basic combat system. Before I hacked out a simple one to get the idea, but it was really slapped together. So the basic combat, as I've planned and been inspired by others is broken down like so…Combat - AddMagic/Talent - Multiply or DivideUse Item - SubtractOn top of that, you'll be timed for your answer which will factor into your total damage when you attack. While a wrong answer is a miss, taking too long results in reduced damage. I haven't decided on how long to give the player to answer, or to make it a miss if they wait too long.Enemy attacks can be blocked/dodged by solving math questions as well. Also based on time, taking too long will allow the enemy to attack, being slow will have the enemy do partial damage.I'll have to get the basics done before I settle on the amount of time you'll have to solve the question for attacking or blocking.Story wise there's been a big change, so I won't say anything on that. Details have been shipped to Harrison whom I met on playpower who will be working on fleshing out the story. To add a bit more math fun, I'm also thinking of having the player's stat page have all the math breakdowns of the stats, damage and item damage.Something like: Strength 8+ Weapon 4—————– Damage 12 Agility 6* Armor 2—————– Defense 12 Endurance 7* Level 4—————— Health 28Just as an example.
I haven't been paying attention throughout your blog posts, but have I really just now noticed it's an edumacational game? O_o
Well, this one is intended for children right?
Thats the idea, @both.
this is made of win. i would play this just because i'm a simple person.
don't make it too kiddish now :PIt involves murder, evironmental destruction, demons and combat…but educational math challanges too, that makes up for that.
