So I got an idea for a survival type horror game, something like Jacob's Ladder, Silent Hill and a little flavor from Eternal Darkness.
The basic idea is that you, a poor kid in a cheap-ass ghost costume go to your high-school party which apparently you never heard of taking place until your parents are taking you there.All the kids seem a little off, and none of them you can remember…is this even your school? Everything seems otherwise normal, some teachers, kids in costume…but then the darkness comes and transforms the place, all costumes become real and are out for blood, yours to be specific.Concept screenshot, AKA, photoshop layers.To save time(be cheap) I decided to go with a paper doll system, at least on the sprite creation side. It'll be frame based in the end.So I've about 7 kid heads done, next is some costumes and simple walk animations.When everything's normal, you're not allowed to run, get caught be a teacher and go to detention….You'll be able to hide in lockers, closets and shadowed areas. Get caught by a monster and its game over.So thats the basic concept, I figure I can whip up a simple engine in GLBasic, the scenes and finishing the characters will be the challange. And of course like always audio…which I could just be cheap and do one of the following.A) Ambient soundB) Canned halloween music.C) Butcher an organ.
That would be…why hasn't anyone made a Benny Hill game?
I'll put it on the list.
This sounds like Kakurenbo just a bit.
Sounds cool :D I need to work on my game ;_;
