First RTS, even though...

I had planned and considered them before.

Then I find some free graphics for a canceled game called Hard Vacuum at Lost Garden.

Now I have always enjoyed RTS games, but I liked Dune 2 / 2000 over Command and Conquer. Something about it being more of a resource war then some crazy world domination plot.

Now I got a working map editor, although the collision map isn't quite working yet…

From my previous post on the map editor, I've decided to double the size of maps.

Like Dune, you had a world map divided into chunks.

Unlike those RTS, the stuff you do on each map is retained per player, and at times can be revisited.

There will be three major resources that you will gather: oil, ore and gas(natural). There is no fog of war but enemies don't show unless they are in a unit/structure's field of vision.

Resources are hidden and can only be revealed by units with scanners or building a scanner building.

Opponents will be aliens and competing companies.

A game will consist of more than one world, with the option to add new worlds to a game, making user maps capable of being included in the main game.

I'll keep the code flexible for future multi-player.

Hopefully I'll have the map maker finished soon. Need to correct the collision placement and add options for pre-placed unit/structures and overlay objects. Once the map maker and tile set is finalized I'll accept custom maps to be included.
