Get your pipe and book on.

The stoners are now disappointed…

But now I have voxel pipes! And bookcases…but I'm going to redo them, make them a little thicker, cuz right now they are super thin.

But the pipes are the cool thing, because they're individual pieces. Corner, straight and capped end. The possibilities are endless…because build seems to handle a shit ton of voxels rather well.

So far, 166 voxel models are in the game and still more to come. So far its about 7mb, but that can be reduce on several oversized models. The limit is 16mb for mapster and 24mb for Eduke, so I still have plenty of space.

Someone had made a voxelized duke3d based on the high-res conversion of duke3d…lets just say they went all hi-res with it and it's way breaks the buffer limit.

I've considered messing with it, reducing models and even adding some shading effects as the 3d models were pretty flat.

Who here has duke3d? Its like 5 bucks or less at GOG.

The pipes look amazing, at first I thought it was a single sprite.

I had a pirate copy of D3D with some expansions, but not anymore :P

I am pretty happy with how the pipes turned out. I came up with a nice method of a heightmap to create the masks for the slices of a model. I don't use gray scale but a set of colors so its easier to handle and have more variations. Gray starts blending the more layers you need.

If you have the duke3d.grp, then you can have a test run in the near future. I'd like to wait until the AI is fixed up for the basic enemies of the first level. It would be awesome to see it on an Itouch, I believe it even uses Eduke3d as a base, I just don't know how to get it to run with the mods in place, besides creating a new Duke3d.GRP with all the replacements, but the trick is getting the voxel definitions to load as well.

It should work in both opengl and classic mode, but currently classic is the best looking/fastest. Does the iTouch version have screen settings?
