So I decided I'm just going to cave and create a nice water effect for more areas.
Thing is though its tricky to do this effect, its a learning process too since there is no actual documentation on how to do it. Its a faking of rooms of over rooms with some other weirdness in sector movement at engine time to pull it off. It also means it very particular in how you set things up.Video posted here.

Only the tops will be transparent though, not all water will be but a good portion of it will.
Its actually an amazingly huge pain in the ass to get it to work underwater.Mostly I wanted it for above water anyway, so you know where you can go in. You can pretty much get out of any water ceiling area. A solid water floor wouldn't be submersible of course.
