So I'm a bit past schedule for the month of May, which is great! Now I'm already starting to fall behind for June though XD I'm hoping to have everything done for the engine by the end of June, and the 1st level plus the 1st official demo done. Once this is completed I just need to finish up 2 more levels using the existing engine in the month of July.
After tossing around several ideas for the setup for the levels in the game, I decided on sort of a point and click format. You'll walk around with the mouse and talk to merchants, encounter enemies, and examine stuff. Small stuff like minigames will be all mouse controls. Enemies will chase after and can be seen from the overworld, because random encounter battles…suck :P Here's some screenies of what it looks like.

looks like earthbound
I like earthbound thoughdid you already write out the story?Yeah, the story's already down. I made it after I did the battle system. It's been mentioned more in some of previous blogs on the project. And it would be safe to say it is in fact influenced by EB, but by the general quirkiness and the funny yet somehow serious tones. I would probably say it's influenced a lot by Earthbound and Mario & Luigi: Super Star Saga.
haha, I thought that battle screen looked familiar. well good luck, I'm rooting for you to finish :)
