I came up with an idea for a game. A space shooter type, but the badguy's behavior is controlled by whatever sound the computer is playing. This would be hard to do, and probably impossible in game maker. Unless I haven't been paying attention very well. But it could be awesome. For example, a death metal song could make the enemies faster, while sissy music would produce a slower effect, and easier enemies. You could use a hip hop or techno song to get a more rythmic pattern. Does this stuff make any sense to you? Do you know about an extension or dll that might be able to do it? I's work on it myself, but I have no time, or talent. I have a report on aldol condensations, and biochem homework, and a powerpoint to make for molecular cellular biology. But I did get an 85% on the magnetism test in physics II, and that's the hardest test of the class, my A should be fine in that class.
Also, I got lvl 13 warrior on FFXI.I have been playing Slime Online, I have about 4300 slime points. That high score is as good as mine!
You could check the volume the music is, the louder the harder. Ask someone that has made a music player with visuals that "move to the beat" I am sure someone has made one of them in GM.
I doubt it'd be very hard. Just get a .dll that can report back the levels of each channel in a sound, and you should be good to go.
