64Digits Blog Theory

Posted by Siert on Nov. 13, 2006, 5:52 p.m.

Ah, well, my title is inspired by my chemistry homework, a hypothesis.

A Short Off-Type-Topic:

Did you ever realize that the word hypothesis has the word thesis in it? Hypo is a prefix which means below or less than normal. So is a hypothesis a less than normal thesis? Well, if you think, it is. But, the definition for a hypothesis is accepted as a highly probable solution in the light of established facts. Interesting…

Actually though, I do have a hypothesis:

Quote: My Less than Normal Thesis
Most people on 64Digits visit other people's blogs.
With another hypthesis:

Quote: My Other Less than Normal Thesis
Most people on 64Digits only read blogs if they look appealing, does not appear to be a rant, and supports some type of good title.
With my final hypothesis:

Quote: My Final Less than Normal Thesis
Most people on 64Digits reply to blogs if the find interest in the subject, or can find something to say about the blog, or the blog's owner.

Combine all those hypothesis and you get my 64Digits Blog Theory (with approval and agreement in my conclusion, it can be the 64Digits Blog Law!)

Quote: 64Digits Blog Theory
People on 64Digits visits other people's blogs if they have a good title. They read the blog if it is appealing and is to some extent, interesting. They comment on the blog if they find it interesting or can say about the blog, or the blog's owner.

Exceptions:

1) The blog's owner is popular, in a positve way such as a mod or a good 64D'er, or a negative way such as hogofwar or sk8m8trix.

2) The blog has a title that has something to do with 64Digits.

3) The blog's owner is new.

Well, there is my 64Digits Blog Theory, if you agree (with scientific research =P) and approve, this could be the 64Digits Blog Law!

Any comments and/or suggestions to the 64Digits Blog Theory will be added if it is (or seems to be by scientific reasoning =P) correct.

I wonder how far that theory carries. Can it be applied in some form to larger-scale blogs, for instance, those on Blogspot?

@omicron1: The theory is only for people on 64Digits, but yes, I will change the name of the theory.

EDIT: name changed

sk8m8trix, the rule does not apply to you because he said people on 64Digits, and you in no way qualify as a person.

Ah, so silly.

Siert, your 64Digits Blog Theory completely neglects one variable: the amount of words within that blog. There's a range that goes from:

(Short)

1. People will tell you your blog is too short and will be removed.

2. People comment

3. No comments

4. "Wall o' Text"

5. Z-Oh my fucking God, that must be the biggest blog ever written here.

(Long)

I did one of these blog-pothesises. Did you know that hypothesis get some replies?

Now, second, whats a good title? After short research, I've come to a conclousion. Titles suck. I'm talking about blog titles. Unique name, gets spammed by a Sparl game. 9 points, and such. Maybe its just the fact an admin posted it. And, disturbing titles get a lot of attention. Welcome blogs get alot of attention as well. Welcoming noobs, eh? Fake names get some there too. Things about the console war get adiquite attention as well, since people argue about that. Games of gm, oddly, don't get massive attention. But oh! If a mod or so posts it, so be the glory.
My article on titles relation to populatrity.

After reading the hypothesis, I have concluded that I shouldn't comment on, let alone read, this blog :P

I've readed it because the title was about 64D. I guess so…

Nice reasoning. =P

Sounds logical. Heh. And they make sense.
