Coloraze Contest: Day Two

Posted by Siert on Feb. 2, 2007, 3:42 p.m.

Well, since I haven't been able to come up with any good levels for Coloraze, I'm holding a contest for who can make the best level. I'm going to be releasing another version with all contestent's levels included! So make a level and post a link to it here. This is the second day of the contest and hopefully I will be able to carry the contest through the weekend (two more days). Judging will be on Sunday (two days from now).

*update: lock and key objects fixed*

-Download-

*note: you need to extract the executable to save the level files*

Notice, that version doesn't have the normal levels in it. If you want your level to be included, submit it before this blog is off the front page.

Judges:

twisterghost

kevboh

serpex

Contestants:

darktemp7 (GMC) with Look Before You Leap

Graydon77222 with Exposier

serprex with Linear

MrPacman with Confusion

HandrawnMan with Complications

For those of you who want to see how the game is layed out, check this out 64Digits Topic the real game is layed out a little differently and the level editor looks different, but then you can see what my levels look like. Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT submit games made with other level editors in different versions, only use the level editor on this page. (up above)

To try the other contestants games, you need to download Coloraze (the download on this page), extract it, put it in the same folder as the level you want to play, start Coloraze, then go to load level, then select the level you want to play.

Please post your levels and try to make the best level for Coloraze, now, GO!

Something tells me I can't judge if I'm a contestant?

Siert 17 years, 10 months ago

No, you just can't vote for your own level.

I'll judge then, I guess. I'll fill in if none remains as your third.

I'll make one. Gimme a day.

Confusion

it's really hard, but possible, oh, yeah, you're screwed if you do something wrong :D

Cesar 17 years, 10 months ago

ah, linear is pretty hard, I should try a non-straightforward level :P

Prime Hunter is waaay too easy, sorry Graydon

Look Before you Leap is pretty sweet, but I feel beaten by Linear

Here I made a new one that is a lot more complicated. Take off my other entry and use this one:

You can have both, but I guess you don't want the other one, right?

CONFUSION=Interesting one. Main challenge is the invisble walls…A few red herrings too

COMPLICATIONS=Quite simple, though it may of been my hunch that just made it end quick

EXPOSIER=Nice one,full of red herrings.

LINEAR=I find it gives the illusion of being open ended, but its quite simple to the core

LookBeforeYouLeap=Still figuring, thing needs a screenshot of it in the editor for the .zip release

Note on Keys/Locks=Why can't we have more than 1 lock?
