T H E ~ B O O M L A N D S

About: The Boomlands is my entry for gamedev.net's anual 4-elements compo. It takes place in a kingdom of two countries ruled by King Royale. King Royale dies and gives half his power over the two countries to one countrie. The other half to the other.

One country becomes jealous of your half of the power and wants it for itself. The war begins and you are forced to conquer or be conquered.

Gameplay: The gameplay is very much inspired by Medieval Clash. You select 1 of 3 European groups to play as. Select the amount of money to play the game at.

In game you simply try to make coin by chopping trees with villagers and choosing when would be the best time to hire 1 or three different warrior units. All units are hired by clicking on their buttons that are below the health bar.

Some units can be upgraded. At 300 coins you can upgrade a soldier to hold a shield which will help him in fighting other weaker soldiers. Or you can upgrade Archer to shoot 6 arrows instead of 3. You can later upgrade another unit at 700 coins. Upgrading should be done quickly or the other team will upgrade and pulverize you. Not really.

There are also buildings and building upgrade buttons below the castle. Just move your mouse over their buttons and it'll tell you what their for.
