Sound Problem

Wow, This is my first blog in ages.

Sound Problems

I was hoping someone here could help me out.

I am having trouble with 3D Sound working in games. I first noticed this in Doom 3 when I activated 3D sound. I started the game and I noticed I could only here the background music but no SFX. I turned it back off and thought nothing else of it.

2 days ago, I bought Silent Hill 2, and noticed the same problem. I entered the options menu and found no option to turn off 3D sound. I didn't care up until now, as I always had the option to just turn it off.

Here is my sound settings, in case I'm missing something really obvious :

LOL NO PIC ^_^

I have no idea how to fix this, so I need help.

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy HD Software Edition if it helps.

Other info on this sound card can be found here :

Condemned 2

This game is awesome. I got the first game with my 360 and loved that too, but this one is great. It has online multi-player which I would probably be fond of if I had Xbox LIVE Gold but I don't. Damn.

Other Shiz

Im off for 2 weeks! WOOOO!!!

…In other news, I have been quite fond of this :

If you don't comment…

I had the same problem with my installation. I find Creative suck when it comes to… everything.

This place helped me though: http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&thread.id=11425705

Try this:

Start -> Run -> dxdiag -> Ok -> Yes or No -> DirectX Files

Now check that dsound3d.dll is there

if it isn't then try reinstalled DirectX

but if is try clicking Sound1 -> Test DirectSound

that may help identify the problem, if not try reinstalling DirectX anyway…
