So Facebook has Deserted Me

Posted by SquareWheel on July 29, 2007, 8:53 a.m.

Here is a quote from what I typed 2 days ago:

First of all, I get this message telling me to "Add friends from my high school or my account will be removed" when I sign up. I comply and added a few. I go on maybe once a week, adding some people, chatting, whatever. 2 months later, I log in, and after about 10 seconds of browsing get a big fat error message. Something along the lines of "Your account has been disabled, contact disabled@facebook.com to appeal your case". So, I send out this message.

Quote:
Hi there. I'd like to know why my account was disabled? There was a message telling me to add a friend from my school, when I did. I later logged on for a few seconds then it told me I couldn't log on. Whats going on here?

I instantly get this response.

Hi,

Action has been taken on your account, and Facebook Customer Support has received your inquiry. We will review your situation and get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for contacting Facebook.

Well that doesn't sound so bad. I await for their answer. A few hours later, I get this.

Quote:
Hi,

Your account has been disabled because your affiliation with your High School network was

not successfully confirmed within 60 days of joining Facebook. We take this policy very

seriously, because network verification is one of the best ways to ensure that our site remains

safe from abuse. Unfortunately, you will not be able to regain access to your account. This

decision is final.

Thanks for your understanding,

Rose

Facebook
Well, now I'm feeling pretty pissed. So I reply with this.

Quote:
Safe from abuse? I hardly see how not asking other kids on your site to become friends can cause some sort of security alert. I do know for a fact though, that I had friends on my Facebook who go to my school, and your message still remained. Rose, I ask you to reactivate my account.
I just sent that out now, and I'm waiting for a response. I wonder how final, final is?

It's been a few days, and I'm going to message this "Rose" back. I don't know what will happen, I probably just won't get any response. It sucks too, because I didn't get to read my messages, when I clicked the home link I got banned on the spot. For those who don't know, Facebook is like a less creepy myspace.

Don't you just love customer service in a world of fearful idiots?

Those bastards threw me off becuase they said I was impersonating someone. But how could I impersonate someone with my own damn name? Fuck those bastards. Facebook is illegal anyway. Mark Fuckerberg stole the idea from some Harvard classmates who asked him about the code, they're suing his ass for intellectual property infringement and I hope they win. Until then, I recommend hitting Facebook with a good old fashioned spam attack!

Yeah, I hope Facebook has to be taken down as well.

Protip: Don't register for lame, twisted corporate services like that.

When you sign up someone needs to confirm that you go to that school. If someone doesn't, I guess they assume your some kind of criminal and delete your account. I hate facebook, I made one a long time ago and never used it. It's so stupid!
