I surprised myself today by thinking of a game idea. I am still working on the storyline, but here is the basic game play:
The game will be a platformer, in a large level with a view, but you won't be able to control it. You can move around just like in a normal platformer, but you can only stay in were the screen is looking. As you go through the level there will be different levels of platforms. You will have to chose a level and on certain levels there will be obstacles, walls that you cannot get through, or "safe levels" where there will be no obstacles. Along the way you will collect coins. If you have enough coins then you will press a button that will enable you to travel backwards, so you can chose a different level, that is *hopefully* safer.
I will probably start programming the basic game play today. Any suggestions before I get to far?———————–Images of the day————————–by daportaby Lawrence Just experimenting with colours/reflections etc. in differently lighted environments. What?!? Nice, I mess around with some pixel art. It's a good time consumer but its fun.
Sounds interesting, and I realy like your pixeling SG.
That site looks awesome, Stained Glass. Good find.
wow, the neighborhood is awesome…
Day in the Life of Bob, High-ResI don't quite understand your game concept.
Is it like those games in which you HAVE to stay in the screen or else you die? And then you try to find the best path?I had a hard time describing it, I will post the engine soon so you can get a better understanding.
