The Real Saddest Blog ever

Well, I've been trying to upgrade my 2 year old computer and stuff since I've been wanting to play some of those new games these days.

ok so the first thing I do is go to office depot and me and my dad get an AGP graphics card, it's not the correct socket so we exchange it for the PCI one when we figure this out… I was so sure that the sockets on the side of the box were the same as in my computer :< The graphics card was $80

So I install it all and the graphics card is all nice making my games run faster a little bit and then I take another look at the card type GeForce FX 5500 it says…. then I realize that the better ones are OVER NINE THOUSAND…………. and now know why it didn't let me run Trackmania on maximum at a decent frame rate. Although it was really huge for my mini-desktop and I have to leave the case open…

I decide to order a graphics card online through a website called newegg.com which is a really good site. So I buy another graphics card for $120 which is a low-profile size for my mini-desktop. When it arrives 5 days later on a 2 day delivery contract :p fucking Sundays and religion, I finally get my card but then after putting in my case it won't fit into the PCI connector because I was dumb and didn't realize that the connect need to be a express x16 and I think mine is a PCI 2.0 slot :p and even if that was correct I needed to 24 prong energy supplies and only had 1 and my system's power supply is 160W when my new graphics card alone needs 400 minimum :P

So I switch back to my other graphics card since it atleast works and am now planning to build a pc from parts that would be compatible with the graphics card I just bought. These were the first graphics cards I'd ever bought so I guess I'm learning…. I've also learned to look at every detail of a computer component in order for it to be compatible with another.

Since then I've gathered a saved wish list on neweggs.com of what I would like to purchase and so far it's about $600

here is my list.

The motherboard can support up to 16GB and right now I'm only getting a single 4GB so that I don't have to replace it later. I'm also getting a beast processor and a power supply that uses over 500watts and have made sure the motherboard has the correct PCI express x16 slot and the 2 power connects for the card. Oh and my low profile card came with a metal piece that I can replace so that it can be put into a mid tower desktop :D

So anyways this was more of an experience I guess but it does leave me a tiny bit down, not that much however, because I am smart enough not to hype myself unless I'm certain things will go 100% and so I didn't get toooo hyped up :P only a little ehehe. anyways yeah that's all for this blog cyah later or whatever…. :D

custom

Oh yeah I got fear the gold edition about the same time of the first graphics card and I check with canyourunit.com for compatibility and the only thing missing is a DVD drive XD and that's on my list as you can see.

also here is a video there are car chases in malls and cars in wars :P

thanks guys I'll be looking into this a lot more too prevent any more mistakes. and yeah I might have a smaller hard-drive I just wanted to add that to the wish list, I've found other hard-drives but meh :P

also the reason why I chose the 4gb card is because when I eventually get all 16GB of max supported memory I don't want to re-buy the cards (maybe I could use it in another computer like maybe the computer I'm using now :p) and also I didn't find much of a difference either besides the price :p (I don't mind the price I just need all of the pieces to total at around $500-750)

also omg what the fuck have I done D: people be copying my spin-off of xypher's blog title XD

EDIT:@Josea that cpu core isn't compatible with my mother board, they are 45nm not 65nm :p

@Graydon ah ok :D

@video That was on tv last sunday, how did it get on the internet so quickly?

Why the heck would you need 16gb of memory?

Also, your motherboard is probably needing paired RAM anyway, so you would need a 2x2 or a 1x4 kit to get 4gb to work in it.

Yeah, 16 Gb is foolish, specially with DDR2. When people reach the point of needing 16 Gb RAM, your mobo will be obsolete already (which is already obsolete if it doesn't support 45 nm),

and DDR3 RAM will be dominant.

well I don't plan on upgrading all the time and @flashback I'll do more research on pairing ram cards :P

Graydon 16 years ago

I have an insane amount of ram with 6gb, I don't see why you would ever need 16gb.

I just did some research and you don't have to fill all of the slots so I'll just get the 4GB and also the reason for this is because I don't like the slowness :p
