In my last blog I wrote that I'd be going on a trip to Strassbourg and to sailing contests. I've been away for allmost 2 weeks in total and I found that there where lots of new games submitted and I've checked them all out.
In those 2 weeks a lot of things have happened. First about the sailing contest, something very akward happened. We came there 2 days before the contest started. The first day there was very little wind and the second day there was no wind at all! Everyone thought that the contest would be cancelled or that it would be a very boring one. But then something very curious happened. The first day of the contest there was wind. And so a little wind. Good hard wind. The weather was as perfect as it can be. Good wind, dry and sun. There where 2 races that day, both went really well. We ended 4th both times in our group (you where divided in groups because otherwise it would be a bit chaotic with 300 boats following the same route) and that made us 4th in total of the kwalification rounds. There where 26 boats in the field so I think we did a pretty good job. We ended up in the first field. The group with the best sailors of the kwalification rounds. The second day the wind was even a little harder but still ther was no rain. Now the final race had to be sailed this race didn't go so bad. Taking in count that we where competing with the best sailors of the area. After that race we heard that we were diskwalified because we haddend started, that is the stupidest thing I had ever heard. Of course we had started, we were allmost the first that came over the finish. Luckily someone had photo's of our start so that we could prove we had started. So we were undiskwalified(if that's a word). This race we ended up 8th. In the total results we were 11th. So we are the 11th best of the area!!! (With the area I mean everyone who lives close enough to show up in the contest. So basicly it is the half of the Netherlands.)This was quit a filling blog. I will write about Strassbourg tomorrow
I think he meant qualification.
