Ugh, this grid stuff is seriously irritating me. I've spent the past 2 days learning how to use data structures (still don't have a GREAT grasp of how they work), and trying to draw a grid to the screen using some coordinates stored away in my data structures (after setting the values with a while loop executed at creation). Well, after much tinkering I finally got something drawn to the screen. Unfortunately, it's not a grid. Not even close for that matter. After a LONG time of investigation, I realized it was the order in which I was drawing vertices (using another loop). It gave me a crazy zig zag pattern, so I went to work trying to fix this (asjusting temp variables, adding new mechanisms). So far nothing's working. I'm not giving up though, I'm gonna crack this, even if it takes me a week/month/LOONG time(or I have to draw each individual vertex myself). lol, I never dreamed that drawing the grid to screen would be more difficult then manipulating it. Well, untill I can get this grid up and running, and actually make some headway on the game there won't be any screens (well, nothing worth posting anyway). I hope to have most of the engine/game done within a month(at max). On a final note, if anyone has any advice on using data structures (grids in particular) I'd me more then willing to have it. Until next update.
