[TDOT] I come with screens

Yes, I have a couple early beta screenies today. Right now I'm at that point where I can start making some headway, but it's also the point where it takes longer to make decent strides. Anyway, here's screen number one…

This is just the newest wep I've done firing. It's an assault rifle. High rate of fire, but low amount of power.

Right now I'm about to implement the ammo system, then after that I'll fine tune the weapons (the battle rifle is acting up). Once I get most of the weapons and engine done, I'll start fleshing the game out. Add some levels, and start work on the AI. I hope to have 20 weapons when it's finished and reasonably smart AI. I'm also gonna be looking for someone to help me put this game on the net. Not really like an MMO, but I'd like to eventually have something like 5on5 deathmatches and CTF. The game (so far) is coming together nicely, haven't hit any major walls yet (and thankful for it). Well, time for me to leave till' my next blog. Please tell me what you think, and critique anything you feel the need to do so.

Im not rele a big fan of image_angle and shoot towards mouse platformers. I personally like ones where you can shoot towards the right and left, because in a firefight, it makes players battle for position, and it's easier to dodge bullets making for easier gameplay, plus, image_angle=point_towards_mouse(blahblahblah) makes lines look to choopy and gives a pretty unprofessional look.Btw i'm doing a game just like this, but don't have any screenies posted, but it's gunna be like a cartoony feeling platformer, which kindof blocky bodies, and im hopin to feature online gameplay as well. As far as gametypes go, Im not sure if you thought about bomb plant/diffuse, but you should. Other than that good luck man, hopefully everything goes well.

SY: I plan on making my own particles, that's why I said they were a 'filler'. Just temporary until I get to that part of my programming.

Inf1u3nza:Those are some of my fave game types :D. Anyway, I'm just gonna have to live with the image angle deal cause I just don't have the patience right now to animate a sequence. Oh cool, I hope your game goes well. Yeah, online is the kicker for me right now. I've never really done it before, but if all goes wrong it'll be a fun single player game.

I personally like mouse shooters rather than facing left and right. It depends on the quality, though.

I'm currently making a mouse shooter but i really find enemy AI hard. Anyway judging from your screenshots you seem to be making good progres. When are planning on releasing it? and please, please don't submit it as a WIP, wait till it's finished.

I don't really have a target date for it's release yet. It's still really early in development. I hope to have most of it finished before '08, maybe all of it, but I'll be happy to finish it period :D .
