:Grapple:
I decided to upload an early alpha demo so Ic an get feedback on the engine (so far). Keep in mind that this is an EARLY demo, and is only meant to give an idea of what the game will be like. I would really apreciate if you would post a comment about any bugs you find.Known Bugs:A couple collision issues (only when swinging).Right-facing running animation doesn't play correctly (new bug). There's a few issues with collisions mearly because I haven't spent all that much time on collision checking yet. My whole focus has been getting (most) of the swinging engine done.:Info:Made with GM 7.0, so you need a fairly recent OS.Press F1 any time in-game to bring up the help HTML document (note that I'm also still working on the helpfile as well).:Final Words:Please remember that this is an early alpha when you post crit. I know it still has it's fair share of bugs, but I've been coding this for only about 3 days now. Graphics (BG) are only temporary until I start focusing more on the visuals of the game. I also plan on having special effects for a variety of things in the future.:Link:And here's the link. Grapple[/blog]
Yay! A GM 7 user!
I'm using a Vista laptop currently, so thanks!Ugh, no WASD? It's nice, but hard.
I like the sprites though. =)PS: Make the room restart when you exit the room.Or checkpoints could help. I can't make it through the first part. :o@Amerup, haha, my laptop runs vista too. That's the main reason I use 7.
lol, WASD shall come. I plan on having 2 different control schemes by the time it's finished.
Another thing I forgot to mention is that you need to jump before you the "hook" actually makes contact with anything. Otherwise the swing will cancel out.The grapple moves way too slowly.
@juju, The grapple purposely moves slow. It's an upgradable skill (launch speed). Thanks for the comment.
~TDOT>The collisions are way off. :/
