Getting Further

Life:

Life's good. Nothing much to report. Started working out, and I'm gonna be ripped in 90 days. Had my first day yesterday. Did pushups till I couldn't physically push anymore, and today EVERYTHING is sore. More sore then any other soreness I've ever felt. But, that's the only real thing going on in my life right now (worth noting).

Website:

Nearly finished my website. I've just got a few more things to add here and there (hit counter, little more content, etc.). I won't post a link yet, but when it's complete (or really near complete), I'll put one up.

C++:

Slowly progressing. Have so much on my plate right now I'm not commiting to it like I should be. I'll have to work on that.

GM:

Making some headway on my game Gungus. I've finished most of my main movement engine. As of now, I've got it so that you can run around the planets, and jump. I made a special system to find, not the nearest planet, but most powerful gravity field, relative to the player's position. Makes good use of two, one dimensional arrays (for simplicities sake. I'll probably make it 1 array soon.), and a series of for loops. I'm currently working on ironing out some kinks in ship control and text creation, but I;ve nearly got both in a working state. Expect some screens soon (no betas yet I'm afraid. I may wait until the games completely finished before I release it.) So, to keep with what I said in a previous blog, here's an updated schedule for Gungus.

Schedule:

1.Tweak Jumping

2.Tweak between planet jumping

3.Tweak 360 degree movement engine

4.Write nearest surface script.

5.Sprite small "filler" planets.

6.Work on spacecraft travel. - WIP

7.Start work on character-by-character text engine. - WIP

8.Tweak craft travel.

9.Tweak C-by-C text engine.

10.Finish craft travel.

11.Perfect C-by-C text engine.

12.Begin work on seamless room changes.

13.Tweak room changes.

14.Begin work on planet entry (for massive planets with atmosphere).

15.Begin work on planet take-off (same as above)

16.Perfect room changes.

17.Tweak planet entry.

18.Tweak planet take-off.

19.Tweak 360 degree movement engine.

20.Perfect planet enty.

21.Perfect planet take-off.
