Also, I am a whore and launched my own TvTropes page.

@JID
Does this mean I'm justified if I refer to you as "filthy whore?" :VNaah, you haven't actually made one yet.…Have you?Hey, five downloads in two hours. That's not bad.At least I don't think that's bad.i know it's in the style of shumps to have the screen filled with as many glittery things as possible, but i did find it a bit hard to figure out what hurt me or not.
that, coupled with the fact that i really didn't understand what the hud was telling me, made it a bit hard to grasp at first.overall though, this is fun to play, it has nice visuals and i do enjoy the fast paceyness. can't wait for future versions!The game itself is pretty nice (if you're into bullet hells). And there are some cool particle effects.
The backgrounds and the title screen, however, are horrendous. Seriously, they look like a 500% blur filter applied to a result of 3 minutes of work in MS Paint. And that in itself isn't the worst part, the worst part is that you can't see the text (and sometimes the projectiles) over them. The game logo is absolutely horrible, too. A green "C" and a blue explosion-type thingy? What? :|Also, I found the main menu and the general "progression" between level confusing. When I see "Game over" I naturally assume I have lost… or am playing an arcade game and need to insert another coin… or something.The backgrounds did receive little effort, I'll admit.
But I can't actually draw anything, and commissioning graphics artists hasn't been met with the most luck so far.I'm not sure where the problem with the menus are… Game over screen takes any key to advance to the evaluation to the highscores back to the menu.There is, however, the concern of making your placement in the mainmenu and the navigation of which easier, which is to be addressed.It's not awfully obvious that you have to type your name in and then hit Enter, and then hit Z, so I'll add little bits of text and things to help.As for visibility over the background, background objects include clouds and planets.Everything else is either a Point Item (score), a Bomb Item, a Life Item, or a bullet.If isn't a black, rotating square, and it's not a cloud or a planet, it will kill you.…Worth noting is that you can bomb within 0.16 seconds of being hit to save your life.I've just realized that neither of you said anything about the difficulty of the game.
:DI've posted this here, the GMG, the GMC, TIGSource, and on the TvTropes forum.Difficulty complaints so far includeIdiot Box's last attackAncient Guardian's last attackLunacy Star 1's middle attacks and Lunacy Star 2's first attacksBattle Cubes last and next to last and fourth attacksHydra Fleet third attack (with the lasers)Curiously, I have gotten that the final bosses' last attack is too easy.And finally, no one has been posting high scores, except for Hal from the GMG, who reports about 3,700,000 on Hard mode.Is there any kind of saving system I can use? I can't always sit down for a long period of time to record, so being able to save mid-stream would be useful.
You didn't by chance forget to disable GM's F6/F7 save/load function did you? :DNo, there is not a mid-game saving system, and I removed the built-in one.
You don't save and load in an STG. That's ludicrous.Pause the game if you need to stop it :VCausing conflictions with your recording software? Map the "stop" button to something other than Escape :DWhat I will tell you, is that the Practice setting on the main menu is used to pick up at a later stage, and with 11 lives.But you only get to play that one stage at a time, and get booted back to the menu after beating it. It isn't contiguous like the main game setting.Screenshots are nice things.
