Taizen Chisou is Totally Gay

Posted by Taizen Chisou on March 2, 2012, 4:42 p.m.

Well, shit. I was hoping I'd save all the self-discovery for oh I dunno never- but that didn't work out.

Writing a book about gays? Check.

Had a cathartic conversation with a gay friend? Check.

Breaking up with a 2.5 year girlfriend?

Check.

And now it'll be an enormous point of contention between me, my friends, family, and everyone. No, really. I was able to hide for the better part of seven years that I was this way and now my entire social life was founded on it. Now I get to go and pick through and cross off all of the friends I had that would turn out to be entirely closed-minded and homophobic and all that.

Umbra, she still ain't into you.

And then there's the point of living out the remaining 1.2 years of high school.

Whoops, I came out just early enough for everyone to hate me next year!

I'm hoping that "where is the difference from before- we were friends then and it didn't matter, so why does it now?" will suffice as a valid enough argument for these people.

But I don't feel as though it will be.

Well, yeah. These were the people I trusted and hung out with and laughed at. And then there's all the secondary and tertiary friends who I'm just familiar with and shit.

And then there's the decidedly anti-gay Entire Other Family Members.

It's good you came out and accepted it. There's nothing wrong with being gay. And if, like Cyrus said, your friends are having trouble with it, then they might not be real friends. If others start to bully you or laugh at you because of you being gay, go ahead and tell a teacher or whoever takes care of things like that. It's still you and nothing has changed. You've always been gay without actually knowing. So if your friends start to ignore you because you came out, they have no reason because you're still exactly the same person as you were before you came out.

Future tense, things are looking okay here.

Past tense, things don't sound good. Shit, do you live in like Texas or Mormonland or something?

Maybe if instead of going around to everyone you know and telling them you figured out about how you're gay, you could just go on and live life normally and only mention the gay thing if it ever comes up in normal conversation or whatever. Or maybe that's not how coming out works because you do sound really worried about the whole thing.

Not the kind of Blog I expected. But whatever, Gay people are cool too…

Taizen Chisou 12 years, 9 months ago

@Iasper I'll try to appeal to them with that.

@MMORPGguy Oklahoma. Full of republican conservative christian people. People'll find out eventually, and if I keep on the good side of at least half of the people I associate with on a regular basis (cause that's still… like 50 people) then I'll be good.

@Juurian What were you expecting?

Congratulations man, I can only imagine how difficult it is to come out.

LAR Games 12 years, 9 months ago

Wow, man. I hope it doesn't go as bad as you think it will.

I completely agree with Cyrus on this one. Annoying is always annoying no matter your sexual orientation.

Taizen Chisou 12 years, 9 months ago

I'm not aiming to be annoying. I'll still be the Taizen Chisou you've known.

Oh, wait.

Definitely read "cathartic" as "catholic."
