Stream of conscience time: game development edition
So I wasn't planning on this being the longest game ever
Perhaps 100 to 140 minutes on a full playthrough would suffice
I've never dragged a game so far as 180 minutes so that might be a stretch
I am gonna have to start plotting out some of the farther corners of development here though such as level design and voice acting
I do want voice acting, and not in the idea that every line gets spoken (even if that would be cool)
Mainly because I've never done it before
The game'll only feature four or five bosses before the final boss, but good on me and Charlie because I can only expend so much effort on coding these things
And he on spriting these things
I was noodling around on a random RPG character name maker the other day…

And then I remembered that our game would take place in an urban setting.
So our game'll be like Kingdom Hearts plus Scott Pilgrim plus The World Ends With You.
Use 'z' to hit things
Use 'x' to block hits
Hit 'c' to swap magical spells
Hold 'c' to cast magical spells

Atantera = Attack Up
Atandaste = Attack Down

I've also drawn up preliminary stat tables that will probably prove to be unbalanced out the ass once it's time for application
Cause the chick with the double pistols would have like 60 ATK, and Shotgun Girl'd have 80, but Pistols is at an advantage due to her ridiculous attack speed.
And her healing magic.
But Shotgun Girl has status effect magic that makes fights easier.
But she only has 1200 HP.
But Pistol Girl has lower defense anyway and only like 1270 HP.
Why does our tank have 2300 HP and 30 less defense than her?
Because he has a shield which completely negates physical damage if he doesn't stagger
But doesn't he stagger more often and doesn't he have the least range
Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh
I'm going to have a buttload of fun testing this I'm sure
WELL I'D POST A SCREENSHOT BUT WE HAVEN'T STARTED
only a week to go
I guess I can balance some of the parameters in the meantime
Ideally, most of the graphics like player sprites and HUD could be completed in 6 weeks, as well as most of the areas.
Then 4 weeks to modifications and developments, and 2 weeks to fine-tuning and testing.
But of course that won't happen.
