I was woken up this morning at the early hour of 10am by my mother to see my brother James and his wife Pina.
Almost a year ago they moved to Indianapolis, and just recently decided to come back to New Zealand for a few months since the flights were so cheap.Eventually, Pina and James had to take care of Pina's sister's kids for about 6 years, because her sister is just a flat out bad mother, so they basically became parents. After a year or so, Pina's other sister; Ester moved here to help them out, eventually she found a boyfriend etc and made our family that bit bigger. So we had a family of let's see… 16 people for about 5 years. And that was great, always something to do, we needed only a few people to play some flag football , and I liked the big family dinner's we'd have, especially at Christmas n stuff where the pile of presents is bigger than the tree. But being one of the youngest in the family kinda sucks, because you're stuck behind while everyone slowly moves away. And eventually you're down to 4 people at the dinner table, Christmas is a lot easier on the wallet, driveway is always empty etc. It's awesome to have them back, especially now seeing it is my birthday soon, 4 days in fact. Back to when I was woken up, we went out for I guess what you'd call 'brunch'.We picked up my dad from his work, my sister from her school, my brother from his work, and we went to a cafe near the shore.Which was nice, had a good meal, then we dropped everyone back at work, school, etc.Came back home and I watched the last 2 episodes of Lost's season 3 with James and Pina. I won't spoil anything in case some people haven't seen it, but it's easily the best two episodes since season 1 of what I consider to be a pretty bad show now.Sorry if I kept anyone waiting with this late entry (doubt it)But I've just been having an awesome day. BYAAH!
Hooray for presents!
Hooray for trees!Hooray for life!
Whipii! Hooray for life indeed! Somehow reading this made me feel good :)
LIFE FTW
