Summary

Last night was Tuesday, but 3 of my friends were away, and only 2 others managed to show up, still we weren't so busy I didn't find the time to add an entry, our internet was down.

So halo3 wasn't an option, just meant we played Street Fghter instead.

My brother James always goes on about Street Fighter, and how he's the greatest, and he is really good… At Turbo II, but in Third Strike he's nothing.

So I murdered him in Third Strike, and he did the same in Turbo II..

Man it's weird playing Turbo II, my natural reaction is to parry, and obviously, there is no parry in Turbo II, same with super jumps, and Third Strike being a whole lot smoother in general.

I used to have Turbo II down, last year I played way too much of it in school, discovered a lot of glitches, exploits and strategies, but I've pretty much forgotten all of them, or at least the conditions needed and button presses to pull them off.

That's the thing, I think Turbo II is just more about timing, finding your chance to knock them back and do a string of moves, and hell, you can get by doing the same string.

But in Third Strike, you need to read your opponent a ton, you can't just keep throwing the same combo at them, they know it's coming and can easily avoid letting you start it.

One of my friends and I play probably too much Third Strike, we know how each other plays so much so that our fights can be pretty bizarre, and like I've said before we have a couple routines where we stage complete fights with some awesome endings.

Done a bit more work with Twinsen, I've finished the mole completely, and Cocopuffs has probably put it all in by now, only thing that still needs a bit of tweaking is the parallax layers, it's hard to describe in less than 4 sentences, but basically it comes down to them not being at even intervals of a sequence of ratios… I think that's worded right.

In some slightly annoying news, that work opportunity I mentioned back in may has been handed over to another artist, kinda pissed me off because they said I took too long to get back to them deciding on a price.

I tried explaining that they should keep in mind I already have a lot done, but no, the contract has already been signed.. Oh well…

As luck would have it, the last person who wanted to buy my RPG tiles just signed on msn a couple minutes after receiving that email, and development for his game starts in about a week.

To be honest, his game was kinda my plan B, mainly for the fact it doesn't pay as well and it's more lay back.

But I was kinda facing a dilemma, on one hand I really didn't want to use my RPG tiles on this higher paying job for a game I wasn't really excited for, and this other dude has been really cool letting me keep my tiles how I want them etc.

Everyone always says that if you're an artist looking for work, you shouldn't let your integrity hold you back, but man… I'd rather maintain my integrity and find work I enjoy doing, regardless if it pays a little less or whatever.

Some more slightly annoying news, Jazz has been eating the cat food.

She's not much of an 'inside dog', in fact there's only one room she's allowed in. But she's been sneaking into the kitchen, and eating their left-overs, cat biscuits etc, and if I catch her she runs outside and hides.

Clearly she knows she shouldn't be doing it.

I should probably end this one here, it's 9:30am and I'll probably be posting another entry tonight when the clocks here change to 'tomorrow'.

BYAAH!
