Dilemma

Cocopuffs was online today, still is infact, and he's done a fair bit of work, he's done the collision etc for the extra levels, almost finished the new opening cut scene, and a few minor bug fixes.

Still, we're facing a bit of a dilemma:

It's highly doubtful he'll be able to implement customizable keys into the options before he leaves for a week.

So that means, we can still probably get everything except customizable keys done before he leaves, but I know people would prefer their own setup, plus on foreign keyboards, the default keys are very annoying.

The decision is, do we pump out the demo without customizable keys, or do we delay it a week or so, then release the demo with customizable keys?

I can't really decide, because I like the default keys fine, plus I normally just use joy2key, and you can set that up any way you want.

Right now I'm trying to find some new music sound effects for the cut scene, hard to find a well organized site with a lot of good sounds, so any links or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Oh and, at my mum's school today, some girls got in the elevator, and decided to pry the doors open while it was moving.

Naturally, the elevator stopped, and they were trapped inside, after a few hours of the girls not being able to work out how to press the panic button. (you had to hold it down for 10 seconds, they just kept pressing it, then gave up after a few minutes (there are instructions right next to it))

Eventually the staff found out when someone needed to use the elevator, and they called in some specialist to get the elevator working.

While he was working it down, they decided to alert the media class who do like a news segment for their school assemblies, so they came and set up all their cameras, got their mics ready to do an interview, and waited outside the elevator doors.

The doors opened, and four girls who had obviously worked out their story emerged to see about 30 people, angry staff members, laughing staff members, laughing students, students requesting statements and half a dozen cameras.

One apparently ran away, but the three that remained were interviewed as planned, then went to the principals office, they have to pay the costs for calling in the elevator specialist, plus they have to make up the time they wasted in detention.

That was a pretty good story at the dinner table, and thats about all for Friday.

BYAAH!

Haha. Stupid people.

In my opinion, you can delay the demo release for a week or more. (I don't have my new computer yet, so I can't test it :D)

TOUGH CHOICE

I say do both.

Delay AND release. HOW?

YOU DECIDE!

both eh? I was thinking about having it delayed, then re-release.. but I don't think it would be worth the hassle, plus I've got some sites waiting for the word so they can do an article for Twinsen, and I doubt they'd bother mentioning a re-release of the demo lol.

best to do just one release,,,
