Retrospective

Forgot to update yesterday, so I'll just sum up that day.

It was my sister in law's birthday, so we went out for dinner, I had the steak.

And in Twinsen news, Cocopuffs half implemented the new running system, and I'm not sure about it.

I've already gotten very used to the current set up, and I think the changes puts too much emphasis on speed, almost to a Sonic the Hedgehog degree.

So I've been thinking about better solutions since that build, and I think I've got one, it will only really effect one extreme, where this current build effects both.

I'll just have to wait till Cocopuffs comes online and we can discuss it.

Oh, and some of you will be pleased to hear that I plan to do away with the 3 legged sprint you saw last time, just to clarify, you really don't see the extra leg in game, you're busy focusing on when to jump, how close that dragonfly is, if your combo window is closing etc

Just with this new setup I have in mind, it's not needed

I was stuck in Super Metroid Redesign for a while, I knew I had to get the gravity suit, and I figured it would be like the varia, in that I had to venture into an area where it's required for further exploration, i.e: Maridia.

I found it not long ago, and now I've got that feeling of so many places I can now access.

In other Metroid news, GameTrailers.com has uploaded their part II of the Metroid restrospective, this one focused on Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion.

The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't state that Gunpei Yokoi's passing (creater of Metroid) was the reason behind the long drought of new Metroid titles.

I really can't wait for the rest, if you're not already familiar with the site, they make some great videos that you should check out the Zelda Retrospective, all 6 parts are already done, so you won't be left waiting.

But when you're done with that, you've got to check out the Metroid Retrospective, I expect most people here fancy themselves as game designers, and the Metroid series has a level of polish everyone can learn from.

BYAAH!

I've seen the Zelda retrospective. It's great.

Nobody ever mentions Gunpei Yokoi. He's not even in Fusion's credits.
