Okay, that's probably the longest I've gone without updating. (while 64D was still up)
Has anything new happened in this last… fortnight? The biggest news will probably be that Metroid Prime 3 was finally released the other day, so I bought myself a Wii.I got Mario Party 8 (and Wii Sports of course) free with it, which is nice, but I haven't even put those discs in yet. One would assume that since I'm a huge Metroid fan that I've been playing Prime 3 all day, well.. I did spend about 3 hours on it today since it's my day off, but I also spent about 5 hours on Excite Truck, just like I did last night.I love Metroid Prime and it's an awesome game, but I've been craving Excite Truck for quite a while.About a month before Nintendo announced Excite Truck, I was hoping they'd some day make an over the top rally/arcade style racer, and sure enough they went and made Excite Truck. It got some pretty inconsistant reviews, some had nothing but praise and other's got hung up on it's short comings.I feel like they missed the point, the thing about this game is that it's just so much god damn fun.ET has made me realize I haven't played an insanely fun game in a long time, I think the last game I played that was pure fun was Snowboard Kids on the N64.I don't mean to say no recent games have been fun, that's just not the main feeling they've given me.So, if you have a Wii, at least rent Excite Truck, it's just so much damn fun.I'll write about Metroid another time if anyone is interested, because I kinda want to pace the game. For Twinsen, I can't quite remember if we've done anything over the last two weeks, if we have done anything, assume it wasn't important. Still going strong at Channel X, we had a meeting the other day which was alright, there's only like 4 meetings each year so they're pretty laid back.I've also been closing the store by myself a lot of nights and I've fully got the hang of it. So now, the only thing I haven't done is open the store in the morning by myself, which I will be doing tomorrow. I've watched about.. 20 movies already, the only one I think worth a special mention is 11:14.It's got Rachael Leigh Cook, so there's no chance of hating the movie, but past that it's also pretty good.It basically follows a couple people individually on a random night where something important happens at 11:14pm, it's very cool to see it focus on another character just after wrapping one up and you see how their actions affected the other person and if they actually ran into each other etc.So if you feel like watching a thriller type movie, check it out.And I guess I'll go over some of my favourite TV shows..:South Park did a cool trilogy about "Imaginationland" it had tons of character cameos (quite a few nintendo characters also) which was cool to see, and yeah, you've probably already seen all 3 episodes, but it was very cool.Prison Break… you know that episode where Scofield was spying on the guard with the little scope thing, and then the guard came in and asked him why he was watching him, holding a gun to his head?Scofield just sat there, he couldn't come up with any excuse and just waited to be killed. I was sure he'd say he was just watching the guards TV because he had the soccer game on, but no, he just couldn't come up with anything.I think it's been pretty bad since that point, Scofield is supposed to be a genius and he's fucked up a lot of simple stuff lately, challenging Whistler to a fight 15 minutes before their escape was incredibly stupid too.Every character just seems to be winging it at the moment, maybe it's because of that Hollywood writers strike, I don't know, but yeah, it's been hard to enjoy..That'll do for tonight, I'll try to write an entry tomorrow since I finish at 5pm. BYAAH!
Prime 3 is win. The awesomeness becomes exponential after Meta Ridley.
Prime 3 is the best Wii game yet =D
And so it will remain until February (if Nintendo doesn't postpone again).
As a Wii owner, you're getting Smash Bros. Brawl, k?Mario Party 8 is crap.
Agreed.
